A monster that hates humans. He despises them, says that they’re
greedy and arrogant, the sentient equivalent of cockroaches. He sometimes
delivers entire speeches on just how terrible the human race is, before giving
a serious “not you, though.”

Ok but monsters that hate humans including you but also finds you unbearably beautiful and attractive.
Monsters haunted by dreams of you, pining for you while they sleep and waking up confused and unsatisfied.
Monsters who are unable to stay away from you despite their distrust in humanity.
Monsters that spend their time growling at you cause they dont understand why they are attracted to a human of all things just for you to snap and growl back.
Monsters that watch in shock and awe as you defend them from other humans.
Monsters warily starting friendships because maybe just maybe this human isnt too bad
Monsters that slowly go from wary to protective when they learn they can trust you
Monsters that go from never turning their back on you to falling asleep on your lap as you watch tv
Monsters that slowly fall in love with you and learns to adore everything about you it used to find odd and dangerous.
Monters that learn that maybe not all humans are so bad because they love you and your humanity in spite of everything.

This is how my current cat was when I went to the shelter. There is something amazingly wonderful about this sudden devotion and love from a newly met creature.
I love this so much. Seriously sometimes a bond starts off immediately and so intensely when you go to adopt a pet. This is true magic.
