Loki trolling Thor by turning into various animals and things is fun enough, but I wonder how often they put some tiny golden horns on an actual snake or black cat or even just drop their clothes on the floor and put a rock in them and go into hiding until Thor finds the snake or the cat or the rock and decides: 

“Oh my sibling has shape-shifted again!” 🙂

And Loki’s plan was to play mind-games with Thor who’d be worried about getting stabbed again or tricked in some other way which is fun, but instead, while Loki’s gone Thor cares for his snake/cat/rock and carries them around and talks to them and makes sure they actually get to sit at the table during meals because even if they’re being a cat they deserve to feel included, even if apparently the only thing they want to do is throw goblets off the royal dining table.

And basically six weeks later Loki waltzes back into Asgard and finds Thor drinking mead and telling the rock about what a day he had.

He drew a face on the rock at some point.

Loki leaves again.

I forgot  the obvious outcome which is that Loki would be jealous of the rock.
